Short answer
SEO helps your pages rank in search results; GEO (generative engine optimization) helps answer engines such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews cite your pages when they answer. Both rest on the same foundation: crawlable pages, clear factual content, one question per page.
The difference in one line
Classic search gives buyers a list of links to compare themselves. AI search reads the pages first and writes a summary with source links. GEO is about whether you appear in that summary, and whether the source cited is your own site.
What we actually do
First, we check robots.txt so Google, Bing and search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot can reach your site (whether AI training crawlers get access is your call). Second, we write one page per real buyer question, with the answer up front, then specs, evidence and use cases. Third, we regularly ask real AI products those questions, save the raw answers and cited links, and ask again after changes to compare.
What we do not promise
No one can guarantee an AI will recommend you, and there is no official "GEO score". Files such as llms.txt are not a published ranking factor for any search engine either. We report only what we measure: which questions we asked, which answers mentioned you, and which pages were cited.
