Overview

A factory making fiberglass and carbon fiber products, with a large and messy old catalog site. We rebuilt it with premium animated design, kept the domain, and mapped every old URL to its new page.

Starting point

The old site ran on a generic site builder, with many product pages and inconsistent categories and URL patterns. The client's main worry: would a new site lose the pages Google had already indexed?

What we did

We crawled the old site in full and inventoried every URL, product and image. We presented premium animated design directions and the client picked one. We then structured the product specs and generated the first version of the new site. Every old URL has its own 301 redirect rule, checked one by one on the preview domain before launch.

Before the client saw the first draft, we screenshot it in a real browser at 1440, 768 and 390 px and scored it on eight design dimensions, revising until every one met the bar.

Where it stands

The first version runs on a preview domain that search engines cannot index; the live domain and DNS are untouched. We switch over only after the client signs off, and will add post-launch data here.
